Supervision in a Safe and Supportive Environment

My approach to supervision

You might be here because you need to complete your supervision hours for your licensure. Or you might be here because you understand that developing as a clinician means having a supervisor who can nurture and challenge you. I'm glad you're here. No matter the reason, here is how we would collaborate.

A worthwhile and enriching supervisory experience is rooted in the trust and rapport between the supervisor and supervisee. While our work will be primarily centered around discussing your cases, my approach to supervision also includes inquiring into how you are managing and processing the trauma that you give witness to and how your client's stories may trigger your own personal struggles. I believe that as therapists we bring our whole selves into therapy while maintaining professional boundaries. We enter into this work because of empathy, and because we care deeply the witnessing of trauma takes a toll on us. My role as a supervisor is to care for you so that you in turn can care for others.
